As a part of our regular activities, we conducted a
seven day special camp themed “Healthy youth for Healthy India” at Modhur
village which is located 12kms away from Sathyamangalam.
Various Activities have been done on each day to enhance the standard of
students as well as residents of that adapted village.
DAY 1
Seven day special camp was inaugurated by Dr.A.Shanmugam, Principal and Dr.V.Thiyagarajan. Initially, the school campus was cleaned by the NSS volunteers. The School children were asked about their current education method and their needs.
DAY 2
A rally was organized in the village for pointing out the adverse
effects of drug. School children were given training on Basic English Grammar,
maths puzzles, latest technologies, etc. Embroidery training was provided to
the girl students of 7th and 8th standard.Awareness on
“environmental protection” were given to the dwellers of Modhur village.
DAY 3
The walls in and around the school was cleaned and painting process
was started. Blood Group Identification Campaign was conducted for the school
students to improvise their health condition. The school children were edified
with the Basic English knowledge. To enhance the life of the villagers a
special awareness programme on Human Life and Self Confidence was organized.
DAY 4
Free medical camp was organized with
Bannari Amman Medical Foundation for the betterment of the residents of Modhur
village and nearly 150 were benefited. For the furtherance of the school
children yoga and meditation exercise was given to them. The school children were
given training on paper bag making in order to mould them to reduce the usage
of plastic. An awareness programme on the importance of education was
conducted.
By joining hands with Sankara Eye Hospital,
a free eye camp was conducted for betterment of the village people in which 11
villagers were selected for free surgery. For the advancement of the people in
Modhur village training was provided on
mushroom cultivation technique.Candle making procedure was taught to the 7th
and 8th standard students. ‘Self development and human welfare’
program was conducted for the enhancement of village residents
DAY 6
To spur the enthusiasm of the school students, sports
day was conducted and prizes were distributed to the winners. School children
were funneled to exhibit their ideas through projects.They explained
their project to the Principal, Proffessors of BIT, invitees and village
people
.
DAY 7.
Tree plantation campaign was organized to emphasis the need for afforestation. We gathered feedback among residents that they have obtained certain positive changes among themselves
